Ego me part 1
Trying times behind me
And the timing was timely
Blindly im finding
These lights that are beside me
By the clouds of blue skys
Floating spacing where youll find me

All Firstborns | Valerie Ann P. Lambo
When I’m asked how many siblings I have, I normally respond like this, “I have two—my sister and my brother. We’re all firstborns.”
That last part catches people off-guard, and I brace for follow-up questions such as, awkwardly: You all have different fathers? I understand that this comes from the impression that women like my mother are either unfortunate or “hostesses,” thanks (but no thanks) to films like Tanging Ina and Bata, Bata, Paano ka ginawa?
There are many times when I want to tell my friends the truth about my bizarre family story. But something holds me back, being in a country that hangs on to strong family ties and values.
Surreal Sunset | Bangkok, Thailand
I want to dress nice and go on adventures, take lots of pictures and sleep outside. I want to listen to old songs and run aimlessly like I just don’t give a fuck. I want to braid my hair and make flower crowns, I want to skinny dip-a lot. I don’t want to be late for buses or appointments or school. I want to learn but in the most practical ways that don’t involve buildings and deadlines.
